COD - Overrated?

Call Of Duty, also known as COD, is a shooting game serie that began on PC, but today, boys around the whole world plays it on xbox, playstation 3 and microsoft windows.

Cod is about shooting, killing and war stuff.
I (of course) don't play this myself, but on facebook there are incredible many fan pages about Cod. Most of them are very funny, but it makes me think; how many guys out there actually play cod? There are millions of fans on each page(!), and almost every boy I know of, plays cod. 
What is it about it that makes it so unique? Is it a little bit overrated?

    Lol, I don't think the whole world is so crazy about this game, but yeah you have right, there is too many people who are dying for this game, lol.
