Still Day Beneath the Sun - Opeth
Today I'm reviewing one of my favourite song, Still Day Beneath the Sun by Opeth.
I don't remember how I found it, I guess it was just lying on my computer. It wasn't me that found the song, the song found me. Seriously.
This song reminds me of when I'm cruising on my longboard, surfing a few inches over the concrete, just waiting for the small stone that makes me fall and break my neck.
The song is about someone waiting to meet some one. I guess "still day" is a metaphore for something that might still happen, but when "the day is late" you will have to wait for the next day.
Like when I'm surfing, I'm just waiting for that one bail.
It is some difference from the song. Almost the whole meaning between the song and concrete surfing. While I'm surfing, it feels great. A wonderful feeling hits me when I'm going down hill, while I'm in a life threatening situation and the adrenaline is pumping. The song is about the person waiting and that feels like if I would have fell going down hill in crazy speed.
It is still day when I'm on top of the board, but when I'm underneath, scraping my face along the pavement, the light has been switched off.
